Enjoy a delectable meal and spend the evening relaxing!
Day 2: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
It’s a lovely day due to the fact you’ll be seeing southern Tanzania, which is known for having unspoiled wildlife. A delightful hotel morning meal is then followed by a drive to Mikumi with packed lunch. On your journey to the park, take advantage of the attractions along the way; you’ll likely arrive in the afternoon. Mikumi provides designated spots for picnics where you can eat lunch before going on a game drive.
Mikumi National Park is one of Tanzania’s most substantial, having a rich variety of wildlife. It is situated between the Uluguru and Lumango Mountains. Elephant, giraffe, buffalo, Burchell’s zebra, sable, eland, Liechtenstein’s hartebeest, lion, leopard, spotted hyena, and jackal can all be spotted during your game drive. Following your adventures, you will be transferred to a lodge in Mikumi National Park for supper and a restful night.
Day 3: Mikumi to Ruaha National Park
Following a sumptuous morning meal, we proceed with picnic lunch boxes to the Ruaha National Park. Nearly 20,226 square kilometers in size, the park is Tanzania’s second-largest national park after Nyerere National Park. The expansive Ruaha River, which flows through the park’s southeast corner, inspired the park’s name.
Apart from being thrilling, you will also have the rare opportunity to watch a wide variety of animals and take breathtaking pictures that you will treasure. Diverse animal and bird species can be observed throughout the park. You may go on a game drive in the late afternoon, then have supper and spend the night if you happen to have time.
Day 4 & 5: Ruaha National Park
Consider two days to embark on an adventure in Ruaha National Park and experience the best of its very nature, wildlife, birds, and activities. Ruaha is so huge that it can take two full days to fully experience and make lasting impressions of the park. Your guide will pick you up after a hearty breakfast in your lodge along with our packed lunch boxes ready to begin day’s programs.
The national park has an excellent wildlife population and is well known for its large herds of buffalo, lion prides, and elephants. You’ll take a break for lunch and relax in the afternoon before proceeding with your adventure. During the game drive, you will have the opportunity to stop for a memorable photo opportunity of the best sightings of local wildlife. During the dry season, when the temperature is less intense and more dust is stirred up throughout the park, native wildlife are more frequently spotted and unable to find refuge in the sun-withered trees. Leopards can also be observed, especially when they are sleeping in the trees.
Walking safaris are also offered in Ruaha, providing excellent experiences. Typically, they are accomplished first thing in the early part of the day when the temperature is cool and the settings are optimal. There are many more predators in the park, so keep an eye out for lion prides and solitary leopards. The park also contains the highest concentration of wild dogs in Africa! If you get the opportunity to be present, pay close attention to their conduct and interactions because they are just incredible. Following the adventures of your day, your guide will take you to the lodge for an amazing dinner and a restful night.
Day 6: Ruaha to Nyerere National Park
Following an ample breakfast, your guide will drive you to Nyerere National Park; nevertheless, due to the distance involved, it is preferable to fly between these two destinations. We’ll move to the airstrip and fly to Nyerere National Park, where your knowledgeable guides will greet you and take you to the lodge/camp for a sumptuous lunch. After lunch, you’ll have the best time of your life cruising down the Rufiji River on a boat. This is an entirely new experience and a significant break from the game drives.
In the park, there are two types of boat rides: short safari trips along the Rufiji River outside of the reserve at the sunset or the dawn, and full-day boat safaris where you can observe elephants bathing or crossing the river. Enjoy a sundowner while observing the herds of wildlife flock to the river to quench their thirst. A birder’s paradise, with plenty of fish eagles, herons, Egyptian geese, storks, bee-eaters, and kingfishers. Following all of the sightseeing, you’ll return to the lodge for supper and a restful night.
Day 7 & 8: Nyerere National Park
Make the most of your two full days in Nyerere National Park by going on game drives and engaging in amazing adventures. Your two-day stay at Nyerere won’t be regarded complete until you participate in one of the guided walking trips and explore the park’s wonderful attractions. As you take in the allure and tranquility of this far-flung but stunning park, you will get the chance to experience the beauty of nature up close. You will spend the day on safari in Nyerere National Park following a superb breakfast at your lodge. The park is bordered by the Rufiji River, which has many water bodies and estuaries.
Animals are drawn to the lakes, while surrounding predators lurk in the underbrush, providing fascination to the game viewers. The park offers a variety of activities, including boat safaris, catch-and-release fishing, wildlife viewing, and bush walks. You will have your lunch in one of the designated areas in the park’s amazing panoramas in the afternoon. After an afternoon game drive, you’ll enjoy sundowners with your guide and other visitors as the sun sets. A delectable supper will be served, and overnight.
Day 9: Nyerere National Park to Dar es Salaam
We shall depart after a sumptuous breakfast and drive back to the airport in Dar es Salaam. We hope that you experienced a memorable adventure. Remember to say farewell and to know that you’re always invited to come back.
