Day 1: Arrival Day at Julius Nyerere International Airport
You will be met at the Dar es Salaam Julius Nyerere International Airport by one of our tour specialists and transferred to the hotel you have reserved for supper and the rest of the evening. Take advantage of the pleasant weather in Dar es Salaam, unwind, and enjoy the rest of the day as you wish.
Day 2: Dar es salaam to Nyerere National Park
Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation after a delicious breakfast and accompany you to Nyerere National Park with your packed lunch. After leaving Kibiti Town and turning left to proceed to Nyerere, the trip continues across the Great Southern Highway. You will stop at Nyerere National Park upon arrival to enjoy a picnic lunch and some downtime while taking in the park’s stunning panoramas.
You will proceed with your afternoon game drive following lunch, during which you might spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, hyenas, lions, jackals, and other animals. Your guide will take you to a Nyerere lodge later that evening for a delectable dinner and a restful night.
Day 3: Nyerere National Park
Following a delicious breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up and take you on a game drive through this remote and pristine wildlife area. Here, you are likely to encounter African elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, lions, hyenas, wild dogs, and the ever-elusive leopard, which can sometimes require trained eyes to locate. After lunch, you’ll return to the lodge to unwind and have a break for a while.
Following lunch, we’ll embark on canoeing down the Rufiji River and view some animals. An armed ranger will oversee the tour. On this trip, you can anticipate spotting frogs, hippos, crocodiles, and other aquatic creatures. In the park, there are many different kinds of birds, including bee-eaters along the riverbanks, pelicans, and ibises. Prior to returning to your lodge for a delectable dinner and an overnight stay, take in a breathtaking sunset along the Rufiji River.
Day 4: Nyerere National Park to Mikumi National Park
Following a delicious breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up and drive to Mikumi National Park very early in the morning. En route, you’ll pass through towns and local farms before arriving in Morogoro town. You will pause for lunch and some break after reaching Morogoro town before heading on to Mikumi for a game drive. Mikumi National Park is one of the Southern Tanzania parks that borders Nyerere National Park, enabling wildlife to move about freely between the two.
African elephants, buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, lions, hyenas, jackals, and several antelope species are among the herds that you can expect to see during your trip. There are several bird species in this park, including both forest and water species. Your guide will drive you back to your lodge for delicious dinner and an overnight stay after the day’s adventures.
Day 5: Mikumi National Park
This morning at the dawn, you’ll depart for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. Observe lions, giraffes, buffalo, elephants, and other animals as they attempt to dodge the early mist when you’re on the trail. Other nocturnal animals are making their way home after a night of hunting. Return to the lodge after your morning game drive for an excellent breakfast and a little rest.
After a while, your guide will pick you up, then you’ll proceed with your game drive till midafternoon, at which point you will stop for lunch and a brief break before resuming your afternoon game drive until twilight. Later that evening, your guide will drive you back to your lodge where you may enjoy a delectable meal and spend the rest of the evening.
Day 6: Mikumi to Ruaha National Park
Your guide will pick you up from the hotel and accompany you to Ruaha National Park after an incredible breakfast. Your tour guide shall take you to one of the designated picnic areas for a picnic lunch and some rest when you arrive in Ruaha National Park.
The least visited and most pristine national park is Ruaha. Due to its stunning landscape and variety of animals, Ruaha offers a unique safari experience in contrast to the Northern Tanzania Parks. There are sufficient elephant herds in this park. You will arrive at the cottage after traveling for a while, where you will be given a delectable dinner and spend the night.
Day 7 & 8: Ruaha National Park
Following an ample breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up for an early-morning game drive at the wilderness of Ruaha where you may encounter nocturnal predators returning from a night of hunting or lionesses getting ready for a morning hunt, while other animals emerge from their safe havens to start a new day in the wild Serengeti. Large African elephant herds, a lion pride, and unusual wild dogs could all be spotted. Other animals include giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, jackals, hyenas, leopards, and a variety of antelopes.
You’ll visit one of the designated picnic areas in the afternoon and enjoy a picnic lunch while taking in the park’s spectacular views. The afternoon game drive for bird watchers will continue after lunch. Ostriches, secretary birds, herons, ducks, and other woodland species may be observed in this park. The park’s principal water sources are the Ruaha River and its tributaries. Your guide will take you to the lodge for an elegant meal and a restful night after a long day of adventures.
Day 9: Ruaha to Zanzibar
After you’ve enjoyed a delicious breakfast, your guide will pick you up and drive you to the airport, where you’ll catch a flight to Zanzibar Island. You will be welcomed by one of our guides upon arrival in Zanzibar and taken to a lodge. Before starting your adventures the following day, take some time to relax and take in the magnificent breeze of the Spice Islands.
Day 10 & 11: Zanzibar Beach
Being awakened by the sound of the morning wind is such a beautiful experience! Your guide will pick you up and accompany you to one of Zanzibar’s beaches for the day after an amazing breakfast at the hotel. If you’d like, you can engage in a water sport like snorkeling, local fishing, scuba diving, or some other activities.
Day 12: Stone Town and Spice Tour
Typically, best things come last! After enjoying an excellent breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up and take you to Stone Town. You’ll go on our popular spice tour along the way, which takes you to neighboring farms and plantations where you may examine, grasp, and even taste the majority of the spices cultivated in this part of the island. You will gain detailed information about their origins and uses in food preparation, cosmetics, and medicine from our professional guide.
You will afterwards taste some of the tropical fruits of that time of year before being invited for lunch in one of the resident’s homes, where you will be able to try some of the spice-cooked Zanzibar meals. You will be taken on a historical tour of Stone Town in the afternoon to learn about its culture. Your guide will take you to your lodge in Stone Town for evening meal and restful night after the today’s activities.
