Day 1: Arrival Day at JRO
A Broadleaf Adventures staff will meet you at the airport and accompany you to your Arusha accommodation for an overnight stay. Since your trip may begin early the next morning, we recommend that you take advantage of the first night in Tanzania to recuperate yourself after an exhausting flight and experience an African delight.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After a hearty breakfast your tour guide will meet and pick you up from your hotel ready to start the trip with you. The first destination for this trip the beautiful Tarangire National Park, where you can spend the rest of the day spotting wildlife. The park’s enormous baobab trees are famous for towering over the beautiful landscapes of the area. The park is largely made up of low-lying hills from the floor of the Great Rift Valley. You’ll pause for lunch in the middle of the day before continuing the game drive.
Tarangire is renowned for having the highest density of elephant population in Africa, and is centered around the Tarangire River. Both the river and the marshes act as a trap for wild animals during Tanzania’s dry season. Additionally, zebras, lions, cheetahs, smaller kudus, giraffes, buffalo, and cheetahs may be encountered. Your guide will drive you to a lodge in Karatu after the adventures of the day, where you will spend the night and savor a delectable evening meal.
Day 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Following a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge in Karatu, your Broadleaf driver guide will drive with you to Serengeti National Park. You’ll make a stop at the Olduvai Gorge landmark area en route to visit the famous Zinjanthropus statue and take in the jaw-drop scenery of the Serengeti. This is a wonderful opportunity to take some beautiful pictures. You can also go to the museum to see the historical items our ancestors used as proof.
In the afternoon, you’ll take a lunch-break before proceeding with a game drive across the vast plains of Serengeti dotted with acacia trees. The wildebeest migration (the most notable feature of the park) can be witnessed near the Ngorongoro Crater. The Serengeti National Park is home to a good number of lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes etc. as well as a plethora of bird species. Your driver will bring you to a Serengeti lodge for a delicious dinner and a restful sleep after an incredible day.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
The best way to start a day in Serengeti is to tune-in and listen to the heart-warming sounds of the Serengeti’s birds. Following a hearty breakfast at your lodge, you’ll spend some time sync with everything around you before realizing you’re in the Serengeti. Your professional guide will recommend the best areas to spot wild animals, and because he’s an expert, you can bet that you will have the best game drive of your life.
Before beginning your game drive in the afternoon, you’ll stop for lunch in one of the designated picnic spots. The Maa name “Siringit” (which means “the land of endless plains”) is used to refer to the southern and central Serengeti regions. The classic savannah of the park, which is peppered with acacia trees, is bustling with animal life. Before driving back to the Serengeti lodge for dinner and an overnight, you can enjoy a late-afternoon drive to discover more about the local species.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Following a wonderful breakfast, you will go on a morning wildlife drive in Serengeti National Park, and then head to the border of Ngorongoro Crater with your lunch boxes. We’ll probably arrive in the late morning or early afternoon, have a picnic lunch, and take a little break before beginning our afternoon game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most well-known locations, is home to a diverse array of wildlife.
As we carry on our game drive, we will stop at different locations for game viewing and visits to Maasai encampments within the caldera. The Ngorongoro Crater is enclosed by a dormant volcano ring, and its floor is home to many different wildlife and watering areas. The incredible day ends with an elegant meal and a restful night in Karatu, with everyone eagerly anticipating the next day’s getaway.
Day 6: Karatu to Arusha
After breakfast, you’ll have a great opportunity to go on a city tour of Karatu where we’ll stop by the Iraqi market, perhaps buy some souvenirs and learn about the life of the locals firsthand. Later, we’ll continue to Arusha, where you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for you to catch your homeward flight.
